What We Believe
We believe that there is one living and true God (Isaiah 45:5-6), eternally existing in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory (1 John 5:7); that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all (Revelation 4:11; Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16-17).
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God, fully inspired (2 Timothy 3:16) without error in the original manuscripts (Luke 21:33), and the infallible rule of faith and practice.
We believe in God the Father, an infinite (Psalm 90:2), personal Spirit (John 4:24) perfect in holiness (Exodus 15:11, Psalm 99:5), wisdom (Proverbs 3:19; Job 12:13), power (Isaiah 40:26), and love (1 John 4:8, 16); that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men (Jeremiah 29:11; Isaiah 64:8); that He hears and answers prayer (2 Chronicles 7:14); and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (John 3:16-17).
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son (1 John 4:9), conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:20). We believe in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:22-23), sinless life (1 John 3:5), miracles (Acts 2:22; Galatians 3:5), and teachings; His substitutionary atoning death (Romans 5:8-9; 1 John 4:10), bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:5-6), ascension into heaven (Acts 1:10-11), perpetual intercession for His people (Romans 8:34; John 17:11) and personal, visible return to earth (Revelation 19:11-16; Zechariah 14:4).
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:7-8), and to regenerate (Titus 3:4-7), sanctify (1 Corinthians 6:11), and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ (Acts 1:8); we believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide (John 14:26; 16:13). We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the biblical gifts of the Spirit.
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice and, therefore, are under condemnation (Romans 3:23; 6:23); that God regenerates by the Holy Spirit, those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord (1 John 1:9); that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit (Acts 11:16) and power for service (1 Corinthians 12:7-11), often subsequent to regeneration.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church: baptism (Matthew 28:19-20) and communion (Luke 22:19-20). We believe in baptism by immersion and communion open to all believers.
We believe in the Baptism with the Holy Spirit as a distinct and separate experience to that of regeneration, occurring, either subsequent to or simultaneous with salvation, evidenced by a greater dynamic in the Christian’s life enabling that person to be a bold and more effective witness (Acts 1:8). The supreme evidence of the Spirit filled life is the fruit of the Spirit, love (1 Corinthians 13; Galatians 5:22).
We believe God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between a biological man and a biological woman and Himself. (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6).
We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, and the final judgment (Revelation 1:7; Revelation 20:11-15).
